Brief Biography

  • Ms. Peterson Linehan has been practicing law for over 25 years and has limited her practice to family law since 2010. She is proficient in representing clients in all types of divorce. She began in a mid-sized law firm in downtown Houston and has owned her own firm for 14 years.

  • She is very experienced in working with her clients to make the process of divorce understandable and efficient.

  • Ms. Peterson Linehan obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas.

  • Ms. Peterson Linehan is a strong proponent of resolving divorce amicably and is a mediator, divorce coach, and also helps high conflict families with children resolve their disputes.

  • She is a member of various professional groups so that she remains current with issues related to divorce.

Mediation Experience

Over the course of her career, Ms. Peterson Linehan has served as a mediator and as an advocate in
the mediations of hundreds of cases, ranging from two-party matters to complex, multi-party cases
in all areas of substantive law. In addition, she has assisted now deceased Justice Frank Evans,
founder of ADR in Texas and retired Chief Justice of the First Court of Appeals, in training other
Texas lawyers and judges in the mediation course, "Mediation and ADR: Resolving Civil Disputes
in Texas."

Legal Experience


Ms. Peterson Linehan began practice as a litigator and Assistant Attorney General for the State of
Texas. She subsequently worked in private practice in a Houston civil litigation boutique where she
did trial work in personal injury, medical malpractice, commercial litigation, employment and
family law. She has also worked as a claims attorney managing personal injury claims. She has been
licensed in Texas and North Dakota and was formerly a licensed claims adjuster, qualified to adjust
professional and general liability personal injury claims. Ms. Peterson Linehan founded
RendonPeterson Law firm in 2010, engaging in civil trial, personal injury and family law on both
sides of the docket. She also served as the firm’s managing partner. She subsequently formed
Peterson Law firm and then Peterson Linehan Law Firm.
